Real talk: I don't think the Coens quite knew what they were trying to achieve with O Brother, Where Art Thou? , but the music is so good and there are enough great moments that we tend to gloss over what a dogs breakfast it is

This is good and tempts me to do a thread on the Coens, Hofstadter, C. Van Woodward & populism. (Perhaps brining in Hofstadter's doppelganger, Barton Fink).
