is there some alternative reality i'm not aware of where there's any tension or contradiction or anything that prevents anyone from practicing activism and voting? this argument seems like a honeypot for obscurantism and wrecking and general preening.

he seems to be convinced the US is on the verge of a fascist take over, making it a uniquly serious case though. which makes for a weird combination of urgency & his more traditional argument that it’s marginal; just about stopping the worse option, before returning to movements.

Could it be he’s evolving, along with the culture? Perhaps we are in fact in a unique and dangerous place.
