I reaaaaaally wish he’d focus on this stuff more. He’s not some secret leftist/fdr or whatever. But still, this is some bomb rhetoric.

This feels like a good path for Dems to deemphasize the Financial Sector and get back toward Labor.

If he's gonna be "Blue Collar Joe" or whatever, this is the exact way I would want him to go about doing it. Let's hope his policy can back up his rhetoric.

This is meaningless. If elected, what will he do to increase unionization, improve the welfare of workers, or regulate Wall St? Little to nothing. He hasn't made those issues priorities in his campaign & that won't change once he's in office, regardless of his official platform.

I don't really think he believes this, necessarily, but the mere fact that he feels that it's good sense politically to say it makes it clear how much the ground has shifted in the last 5-10 years

20 years ago, the only place you heard this stuff from was Nader and the Green Party. Now the centrist figurehead of the Democratic Party is saying it. Rhetoric is not action, obviously, but it is worth a moment of reflection.

Time for you to bend the knee to centrism, Jeet

Biden isn't sounding like a centrist in that speech. He sounds like Bernie -- which is smart, because this stuff is popular with people the Dems need.
