3. A lot of people who support Trump don't have the nihilism either, but they don't really love him. They support him for courts or taxes or some other policy reason. The people who really, really love Trump -- let's call them the Q people -- have nihilism.

4. If you want to break a window, any brick will do. For many people who want to break windows, Trump is a convenient brick. Understanding the desire to break the window is the key. QAnon is also a brick.

Its not necessarily charisma. Its shameless racism. He appeal is to say aloud what few will. He's got enough sense to know where the line is and to cross it but not usually obliterate it.
