Though I joked about, I used to think the idea of Trump seeking asylum abroad was absurd. Now I don’t. Not likely. But I’ve started to see how he’ll pitch it. It will be abt the ‘very unfair subpoenas’ ... ‘very unfair charges’. So he’s just spending some time out of the country.

so it won’t be called asylum, just spending time outside the country until the very unfair subpoenas are resolved. my guess would be the gulf or Israel. Likely. No. But I think it’s definitely possible. He’s giving all the hints.

Would be tricky for Israel -- remember they couldn't take in Meyer Lansky because America wanted him.

Russia. It would be the perfect denouement to Putin's plans to destabilize America. Imagine the domestic political chaos it'd cause to have Trump living in exile in Russia, tweeting until he finally drops dead.

I'm seriously hoping Donny actually thinks Putin, after Trump's flaccid, squalid, whining self is no longer useful to him, would offer him a warm welcome, no tea or high windows involved

My guess is they'd take him, and then hand him over as soon as they were offered something/one they wanted enough in trade

Fun fact: Ben Kingsley and Patrick Dempsey have both portrayed Lansky in movies.

Serious question- what would Israel’s motive be? Why would they ever take him in? Could be axiomatic to Israel / US relationship- and not in a good way.

I mostly think it’s the gulf. One of the Emirates. What happens in Dubai stays in Dubai. Not Saudi because then he might have to convert.

The Emirates? Possible. If only to piss off the Qataris. But I still put my money on The Kingdom. MBS wants future despots to know that he's got their back.
