6. The military -- especially the officer corps. -- isn't on board for a coup. Their refusal to join in the crackdown against BLM protest shows that, I'd argue. In the future, I think historians will see that as the peak moment of crisis.

Okay, so what does the military do as Trump's lawsuits make their way through the courts to wind up at a Supreme Court that will have a 6-3 conservative margin? I could see Roberts voting against him, but have very serious doubts about the other five.
Just because they're not going to go out in the street and shoot protestors doesn't mean they'll be a factor against Trump. They don't want to get involved in political battles, that's the whole point of civilian control of the military.
I would expect most of the military leadership to oppose him, but would the rank and file listen to them or Trump?
Not a ton of polling on the military, but his enlisted numbers from this August poll were pretty bad (39/47 fav/unfav).
