If we see Pizzagate as the Ur-QAnon then the pattern is more striking: QAnon myth provides symbolic answers to evidence of Trump's misdeeds. Allegations of sexual assault? Well, Hillary worse (Pizzagate), Russia probe (original QAnon), pandemic (QAnon plus anti-masking).

QAnon is largely a way for Trump supporters to square the circle of Trump being President and everything getting worse rather than better.

Same with anything to do with the “Deep State” - it’s a way of cognitively separating Trump’s successes from his failures. Anything that fails can be blamed on the “Deep State” and anything that succeeds, he takes credit for.

Q started on 8 chan. If any journalists want to do their job and report on that that would be great. Would add some context to what we are seeing. This is really no different than the Charlie Kirk operation in AZ just decentralized.

It's not spun out of whole cloth. Jeffryy Epstein? The left and the Dems could have spun a similar theory with Trump and Epstein at the center, but high-mindedly or for whatever reason simply did not do so.

Why go wild laundering speculation into a belief system? Actual investigation would be more to the point.

Also it's not true, QAnon believers were disturbingly plentiful before COVID.
