Yeah, that was the time when farms got burned and people got hanged by mobs about 5 miles from where I live. Not very anxious to repeat the experience.
I have my qualms about the American revolution as well. But the larger point is protesting in front of residences of public figures is not new but has happened often before.
"American revolutionaries" weren't a homogeneous bloc. No revolutionaries are. You could be a Ben Franklin/John Adams type and have done a lot more for the Cause than some wild-eyed Sam Adams/tar-and-feather radical. Disgust for radical tactics != timidity.
