Starship Troopers was much much better than the stories it was based on. Also, Joy Luck Club was better than the novel.

Stories? It's just a novel right? Was there a sequel?

I love AC Clarke, but 2001 was such a let-down having seen the film first.
-
Wasn't 2001 the book essentially written in conjunction with the film in mind and as a collaborative effort between AC Clarke and Kubrick?

I will say that Kubrick's Lolita was much better than the 90s one. At least Kubrick seemed somewhat aware that Humbert Humbert wasn't meant to be a sympathetic character and the book wasn't about "forbidden romance." I blame the 90s Lolita for misconceptions about the novel.

Best movie of the 90s.

My favorite Kubrick movie -- that's why I said arguably. It's very different than the novella.
