2. Quebec religious & political culture was very reactionary in early 20th century & opposed to the French Republic (even books by Rousseau banned). So generally pro-Vichy & after war was a frequent destination point for collaborators who could no longer stay in France.

3. Post-1950, Newfoundland premier Joey Smallwood tried to build up his province by recruiting European industrialists, some of whom had unsavory pasts and one who turned out to be an embezzler as well as a Nazi. Ended very badly.

4. And the focus on Ukrainian allies of Nazis shouldn't be used as excuse to over look other communities in Central & Eastern Europe and Balkans who had similar trajectory.
