Nobody's getting cancelled, but surely none of the people who fear cancellation think it will come from "word policing". The wizard lady doesn't use the slur. It's her political goals and the effects of those goals that make people dislike her and not want to buy her books.

Indeed. Though I'm not sure "policing language" is the inevitable downside of what's called "PC" concerns. It's an occasional zealous overreach, or the perception of someone insecure. Or maybe sometimes the effect of a clumsy institutional policy. (Right?)
