One of the biggest issues that few people are taking seriously about the school problem is space. Making sure each kid can have at least 3 feet of space (the CT standard) around them in all directions is going to be hard, if not impossible, in most schools, public or private.

University buildings are empty. Many cities have them. Use these classrooms for schoolkids.

how is it doable without massive resource infusion from the FEDs? all the states who allowed there governments to become totally dependent upon Sales taxes are unable to respond adequately to this crisis...without a drastic altering of Federal policy this is a disaster

For elementary schools, half day in class, plus couple hours for the older ones of online learning/homework. Separate cohorts for morning and afternoon classes, cleaning in between.
