Well, theoretically not a zero-sum game. It would sure help if humanities departments had funding!

We’ve heard about the brave white people from the North over & over again. What’s changed? How has it helped? As of a couple weeks ago, all the racist slave owner statues were still up weren’t they?

I think this comment illustrates the OPs point pretty nicely. Monuments—like history—are not zero-sum. The existence of a statue of a man who did both good things and bad things is not an issue. It’s an inevitability. The solution here is more statues, diverse ones, not less.

Sullivan spends a lot of his time telling people to calm down and not act so unhinged. Meanwhile, he’s always on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

I’ve seen a number of people react aggressively whenever a black writer points out that many slaves played a role in uprisings. Maybe those people (ahem,
@sullydish) should think about why they have that reaction, but I won’t hold my breath.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

A little hard to be agents & microaggessions seeking victims at the same time. But then BLM gets away with it's antisemitic side while decrying bigotry.
