I think it's darker than that. There has been backlash, in the form of lynchings and other retaliation, but it's not the kind of backlash you take credit for in front of a camera. Hard to come out loudly and proudly as anti-anti-racist, so they find quieter ways.

I actually think it’s interesting Dreher affected rage from middle America toward “racists” too. It’s like even he is trying to reach a middle ground, rather than his usual white/Christian panic.

My favorite is the way they throw “antifa” around the way they used to throw “Reds” around in the 1930’s. A vague word used to justice horrible behavior against anyone who rocked the boat against that hard status quo
