I honestly think about 15% of America's problems (and 40% of England's problems) come from the role debate clubs play in the education system.

You honestly think without debate clubs those men would be any different?

There wouldn’t be people egging them on.

Elizabeth Warren was a state champion.
@pattonoswalt did debate in high school, so did@StephenAtHome. Oprah and Sonia Sotomayor. Lawrence Tribe too. Debate would help with attributing cause

Anyone under 45 though? I'm in my 50's. We had a Debate club. It did not play a major role in anything. It was being supplanted by a student UN/ diplomacy club. Most of the people I compared notes with in college did not have a HS debate club.

are you attributing 15% of america’s problems to these two dudes then or just smearing everyone who’s ever debated unfairly

I thought you might mean or lack thereof. It's quite rare in my experience. Maybe the answer is for more people to take up forensics, not just conservatives. Maybe these two and Warren succeeded bc they did forensics in high school. Others should try it.

It’s not individual success he has in mind.
