The assumption you are making is that Biden will mark a return to normality and not a deepening of the crisis. I'm not sure that is clear-cut.

I don't think any of those things will feel like a real crisis a year from now, unless we don't get a Covid vaccine, which I think is unlikely. Climate change obviously is a crisis, but I don't think it's suddenly going to start to feel like one.

Anyone who thinks climate change doesn't feel like a crisis is either an idiot or is fortunate enough that they'll be dead before things get really bad. It's absolutely terrifying to the rest of us, and Joe offers no hope.

It obviously doesn't feel like a crisis to voters, which is whom I'm talking about - if it did, they'd be supporting v. different candidates and policies from the ones they are supporting.

Biden lost overwhelmingly by voters under 45 -- i.e. the voters who will actually experience the effect of climate change (and the voters most screwed by the economic failures of capitalism in this century).

The two parties have literally created a system that makes it hard for young and working class people to vote (in New Hampshire Dems passed student hostile residency laws) and then they complain that young people don't vote.
