It's been heartening watching all of journalism raise their hands in outrage at the fact that a Daily Beast editor-at-large said Bari Weiss should be assaulted. It shows that concerns about journalistic safety are genuine and not weaponized for political gain. Things are great.

Was Cotton calling for the National Guard or for something else? It'll take 2 seconds of googling to find out. Also there are reasons to be cautious about using even the National Guard for this purpose (again 2 second on google is all you need).

But then why is the claim that black journalists specifically are endangered? If the military is unable to distinguish (FTR, I agree), then the call endangers anyone on the street. This isn't the complain the NYTimes journos made.
