Could it also be that the scam was exposed, I.e. it was "fog of war" during the initial protests but now it's clear the looters are opportunists not protesters? Black Lives Matter and those PDs operating in good faith are onto them & their tactics?

More solidarity, more people keeping trouble makers in line, and less impunity for abusive policing.

Because there’s enough protestors now to stop the white supremacists coming in to start riots
-
1) white supremacists are most definitely not a primary source of rioting and looting, deep-seated anger at the police and US society as a whole is, 2) rioting and looting is largely pretty cool

It also seems like - as legitimate protesters start to understand some of the dynamics of opportunists and/or provocateurs in the setting - they are handling that by setting watch on stores, keeping an eye out and taking video, confronting bad actors.

Protests are becoming more organized as they mature ergo less spontaneous tomfoolery.

Same reason that downtown cores have less crime during business hours. Non criminals outnumber criminals so criminals don't feel so comfortable committing crimes. Protestors aren't looters. There were 500K protesters at the Women's March 2017, any looting?
