The problem here, as I see it, is Jeet's claim really is "some/any neocons switched parties…" but the claim *reads* as, "most/all neocons switched parties…" The former is true; the latter is not, & this is the source of confusion & disagreement.

I'm sure you can find some № of voters who voted for any combination of candidates across a span of elections. But the absence of a qualifier (a couple/few/many/most/all/etc) makes the claim "x did y" imply at least a majority, if not the entirety, of x did y, in most contexts.
