Idea for essay, "Gridlock and the Paranoid Style in US Politics". Gridlock does not merely prevent stuff getting done. It breeds partisanship and paranoia, with its odd corners and multiple veto points. You can't tell who's responsible and why things (mostly aren't) happening. 1/

Looking forward to it. You know I think so: it's an essay so classically wrong that there's always a new, fundamental error to discover in it. It never stops giving when it comes to anti-insights that can then be stood on their heads, becoming insights.
