I don't disagree, but my point is more about how his drawings read as information, nothing left to chance.
I agree nothing is left to chance but that's true of Herriman as well! I mean the "action" of Krazy Kat is even simpler than Terry: a mouse hurls a brick ("ZIP") at a cat. The point is there is a resonance beyond the informational content.
