Simply as a political strategy, Obamagate seems misconceived. Obama is broadly popular and given what's happening in the world (pandemic, economic meltdown) seems unlikely anyone will care about this micro-scandal.

It's not about convincing anyone Obama is bad, or indeed convincing anyone of anything in particular. It's about flooding the zone with bullshit, confusing everyone, normalizing Trump's corruption: everyone does bad things, even if they don't, even if the accusations are unclear.
