yea it is. IF the thought experiment is "if you didn't know who your parents would be and you could only pick what country you are born in, which would it be" America ain't it. And this isn't trivial, it's an important thought experiment.

I agree, Jeet. This makes no sense from a public health point of view, nor from an educational one, either, unless you are very wealthy. Otherwise, we are lagging badly, unfortunately. We have a high rate of functional illiteracy and terrible healthcare for mothers and babies.

Uhhhh Japan would be unappealing for other reasons - like having to deal with the consequence of a population crunch. Sweden's a good one, though might as well pick Norway at that point and benefit from the oil fund.
