What I was trying to say is, I don't see evidence of the crisis yielding communality like you implied. I understand the public sentiment to continue the lockdown. I think it is rooted in general self preservation not sacrifice for neighbor. It's debatable.

Many of us “older Americans” have been ...on the one hand... gratified that so many people step up to help and make sure we have what we need...but on the other hand..the assholes who think old people should just go die are disappointing
