Also: timing. Western Europe seems to have been seeded from East Asia, whereas Eastern Europe wave came from Western Europe. Romania, with its large italian emigrant cohort, is doing worse than Bulgaria Hopefully, with earlier social distancing that means EE will avoid the worst.
