I keep looking for the little details in that film, like Buck Turdigson’s book “World Targets in Megadeaths” on the War Room table. (Which inspired the name for a certain heavy metal band).

I went to the Kubrick exhibition at TIFF a few years ago and they had this amazing model of the war room. This was maybe a foot across but you look like you could just film in it; such a perfect design.pic.twitter.com/Jq0n2Glfmr

Apparently, he got in trouble with the USAF too, because his depiction of the interior and bombing procedures of a B52 Stratofortress was so accurate they thought he must have gotten it from a spy on the inside.

when reagan was sworn in as president he asked to see the war room. when they told him there wasnt one reagan replied, “but i saw it in that film..”
