What do you think are the most striking examples of the abject failure of American institutions during coronavirus? Things like the lines to get paper unemployment forms in Florida, nurses sewing their own PPE, the testing shortage, and in-person voting in Wisconsin.

The testing shortage is most consequential, and I haven't seen any journalism try to address it in a serious way. Would a command economy resolve the situation? On the other hand the ventilator shortage once which seemed so important is not, because ventilators don't work anyway.
