Why is only open economy vs lockdown in consideration, and not an open economy IN lockdown? Is no one planning for that? Pandemic is going to be the new normal if global capitalism, monopoly and oligarchy continue to dominate the marketplace, with climate change ongoing.

One irony is that many of the people who think shipping jobs overseas do some from a position of tenure, and do not see any contradiction. And Justin is more reasonable and decent than many.

The underlying assumption here of comparability between Econ and Epi as “social sciences” is fundamentally flawed. Econ is not a science and can’t honestly be called a social science. See http://www.feasta.org/2011/10/05/economics-is-not-a-social-science/ …

Fundamental difference between econ & epi is: Econ [value of a human life] =$0 Epi [value of a human life] =infinite Irreconcilable lenses. Economists only value paid labour. Fatal flaws in econ are unpaid labour, quality of life & life itself

Economics training selects for sociopathy so most of them are sociopaths. Good example: let’s save lives of thousands 1) to “own” some group 2) we don’t get that it would not “own” them, just the oppositepic.twitter.com/5IHoRr6aVm
