I grew up going to Disneyland, I've traveled to NYC, NOLA, Seattle & California as an adult. I won't leave Canada while Covid is an issue & hubby is saying he won't go to US again

The thing with borders is that, while they keep people out, they equally make it difficult to leave when necessary. Wait till the earth dries up, water becomes scarce, and Americans try to leave to (temporary) greener pastures to become asylym seekers and end up locked up.

This was the scariest part of Handmaids' Tale - the idea that by the time you realize how bad everything is about to get, it's too late and your government won't let you leave. Trust me, there are plenty of us down here with that on our minds.
