The impact of Chapo, the Breunigs, Sirota, etc was not limited to people who came into direct contact with them. These things ripple.

I voted and canvassed for Bernie and I can tell you, the divisiveness and nastiness of a small but loud faction of his supporters absolutely hurt us in trying to win over Normie Dems.

anecdotally as a Very Online Bernie voter, the "tone of his supporters" definitely came up more often than I anticipated when trying to get others to vote for him.

No, there are a not negligible number that have concerns about how Bernie supporters conduct themselves, mostly on line, and it is traceable to that particular faction.

If they are people like this, they are very silly since there is no objective non-anecdotal evidence Sanders supporters are worse on online than anyone else.

Don’t even know why this is controversial. AOC, for instance, has offered a not so subtle rebuke to the Chapo folks by just being pointedly nice and respectful to opponents.

Perhaps Bernie’s problem was the same one he suffered in 2016: failure to appeal to black voters, the block of voters who have arguably been choosing the Dem nominee in the last few cycles.
