Masks make you want to touch your face more (putting them on, removing them, dealing with itches) & give a false sense of security? Have you ever seen people use rubber gloves correctly in a restaurant? (I have, actually, but it is not at all what I usually see.)

That is an excellent argument for teaching lay people to use PPE. It’s a minor ordeal and takes practice, but it’s absolutely teachable. The problem is we’re instead being told don’t bother AND don’t stay inside because it’s not a big deal.

Masks may a good learning for the next pandemic or the next wave of this one. However, they're not distancing in the pictures in this article.
