Okay I read about 1/3 of the way through that tech dude’s medium essay on COVID-19, getting picked up by Foxers.I stopped when I got to the part where he doesn’t understand what “community spread” means. He thinks is means long distance aerosol contagion. That’s not what it means.

Dutch and Swedes are still keeping the dream alive even after Britain backed away

As a Swede living in the US I'm aghast. Swedish health authorities: 1. No risk of any import cases; 2. Zero risk of community transmission (early March); 3. OK, but not more than .1% infected, like in Hubei; 4. Only the elderly get severely ill; 1/3 in ICU < 50? Selection bias.

It greases the skids for a far too early "return toward normalcy" by large scale GOP advocates who are losing too much money.

I presume it’s just a matter of time before the message becomes a thinly-disguised version of “the virus is mostly going to kill poor people and minorities so it’s no biggie.”
