This is true for now, when testing is limited. But the goal (if we want life to return to normal) is free, universal, easily accessible tests, which can quickly locate outbreak and isolate and aid those who test positive. And the social services to get the popular buy-in.https://twitter.com/asymmetricinfo/status/1241052096834789378 …

In a stunning turn of events, I will agree with the president: we shouldn't test everyone unless random sampling suggests prevalence is in double digits.

@asymmetricinfo This misses the point of the question that was posed. Q: When will there be enough tests for every American that needs one? (There are not enough). Non-answer: I don’t think we should test 330 million people.

This is a very round about way to say she is full of crap. Trump is obviously moving the goal posts and she took the bait.

We need to test everyone with symptoms, and track and test the known contacts of all who test positive. All positives or exposed need to be isolated. TINA. There is no alternative.

We need to do all that, but we shouldn’t stop there. We should also expand testing to the point where anyone who wants to be tested can get tested, regardless of whether they’re symptomatic.

It would be extremely helpful to know who has had the virus and recovered. If they have some immunity, they can help with grocery shopping, and volunteering at food pantries, etc.

seems we could use some tests for antibodies, to identify those who had it and never had symptoms
