2. Bernie's base isn't enough to win him the primaries but its still substantial (a third of primary voters), important for future of party (Latinos & a plurality of those under 45). He's a big voice in the party and now is the time for using that voice.

Very true. He's not going to win it at this point and he can be signalling the value of his progressive aims in congress more clearly if he's there, leading the push.

I have no horse in this race and it's a bit ghoulish, but it'd make sense to stay in given the chance of Biden being incapacitated by COVID-19 before the convention. The polls don't show it, of course, but the prediction markets appear to have priced that risk in.

No one has to ‘stay in’ to position themselves as a emergency nominee. If he suspends his campaign, he keeps all of his delegates!
