      Right now, I think a lot of progressive energy in USA could usefully be spent on pressuring de Blasio to shut the schools and pressuring Cuomo (and Pelosi/Schumer) to get together an aide package to make shutting the schools easier for big cities.

      If those things are done, it won't be as a result of "progressive energy." Either way, "progressive energy" has been a total electoral failure so why would we rely on them for anything right now.

      The point is that Bernie is the leader of a large faction in the Democratic party. Not a majority but still bit (35% or so). A faction that large is in a position to push policies. Gabbard is the head of a fringe group.
