Bernie and Biden were Senate colleagues. As banal as it sounds, I think that partly explains his unwillingness to attack Biden with any real tenacity. Similar dynamic with Hillary in 2016, another former Senate colleague.

I don’t know, his campaign sued the DNC in 2016. And he said the primary was rigged against him. He eventually criticized the corruption of the Clinton Foundation. But generally speaking, he refuses to really dig in. Also, he’s more than happy to go extremely “negative” on Trump

He could have gone far more negative on Clinton, Biden & DNC than he actually did The negative stuff on Trump (that he's a racist & a pathological liar) is true, whether you like it or not.

yes, and Bernie didn't parlay this positive campaigning into party endorsements outside of Bill de Blasio

he also doesn't seem super great at it? the attacks he personally delivered seemed were just listing places where he was right and biden was wrong. i was honestly curious how those were landing. like he was certainly correct but was that delivery effective? did it move anyone?

it did also make me wonder if his discomfort with or inability to run negative was going to be a general election liability. or perhaps his whole brand could've kept him out of the muck sufficiently... idk.

I think Bernie is a fundamentally decent guy. I never understood the savagery of attacks against him. But I also don't understand the savagery of attacks against Biden. If I could wave a magic wand and make one guy president, I would make that guy.... 80% Bernie and 20% Biden.

It's their gaslighting -- trying to paint him as negatively as they can.
