Speaking of solidarity: One thing I've wondered, but haven't the first clue about is whether there are particularly valuable community services people who contract and recover from the virus will be able to provide.https://twitter.com/chrislhayes/status/1237231694505218049 …

Last I read they believe there is a period of immunity. But that's why I asked.

It’s extraordinarily unlikely people can be re-infected in the short term. Studies of SARS and MERS suggest protective immunity for at least 2-3 years.

If we assume reinfection is possible and that it’s not seasonal, we’re all going to get it. Better hope you’re wrong on one of those two.

We should be very careful talking about this. There's been some discussion of re-infection, some discussion of whether or not there were "C" and "L" strains that can infect the same person and I don't really think its clear at all right now.

There are reported reinfected cases in China, Korea and Japan. Some experts think they are due to testing issues ( false negative rates) . No definitive conclusions so far.

Some of the cases were thought to be due to persistent virus in people who developed bacterial pneumonia after having COVID-19. But it’s true that there’s not enough info/data yet.
