Just a quick question for Canadians on my list, how long have you had to wait to vote in an election? I have never missed voting, and the longest I ever waited was fifteen minutes. Has anyone here ever had to endure these massive American wait times?

15 minutes seems long. I think my longest wait is 5 minutes in federal and provincial elections. Getting my ballot takes about 5 minutes too.

I waited 45 minutes in 2016, I think it’s because my polling place drew from one of the poorest neighborhoods in Pittsburgh

I’m in a traditionally white working-middle class Pittsburgh neighborhood (Morningside) and I think 2008 may have been the only year I had to wait for one for one of the 3 voting terminals in my precinct. I also vote between 7-8am. I think tome of day makes a big difference.

D's and R's are on the election boards. Seems like Team work at play.

For years I ran a polling place in Indianapolis. Once the initial crunch of early voters was through by 8am, the rest of the day was fighting boredom. I always took a book or two to read in the afternoon. Voting was 6am to 6pm. A long day...

At our largely white neighborhood in our chocolate city, we waited till after nine to avoid the rush before work and got in and out in about ten minutes.
