To me, the story of the Bloomberg campaign is how close it came to working. Puzzled by all these sweeping takes about the inefficacy of money/ads/whatever in politics.

He wd have done much, much better if he remained known entirely by slick infomercials. Refusing to take part in the debates wd have looked really bad, but recall he only qualified for Las Vegas at the last minute b/c of a poll. If that hadn't been released things wd look v diff.

It’s possible the lesson from yesterday is that Democratic voters want a Democratic candidate as the nominee. It’s possible it’s that simple. Because we all know JB isn’t an ideal candidate but rather a vehicle.

We want to win. Warren is my first choice. Biden is a safe winnable option. But if Bernie is the nom, I will work to get him elected.

The debate was a shoot down confirmation - the record is horrendous and was already widely distributed

I wonder what would have happened if Bloomberg had avoided being Bloomberg.

It’s actually a fascinating question. He no doubt would have done better yesterday and likely would still be in the race. Could he have actually won? Who knows on that
