When Blatchford wrote that the photo "shows virtually nothing that would stand up court," she was referring to sexual assault, not the taking of the photo. (Whether "child porn" is an appropriate charge for one minor taking a photo of another is another question.)

Deleted a tweet which erroneously said the blogpost doesn't include a link to the column. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/christie-blatchford-why-there-will-never-be-a-case-against-the-rehtaeh-parsons … Nonetheless, my point stands. Any journalist who reports on controversies will inevitably hurt *someone*. The post also misrepresents Blatchford's column.

Is this case what u really want to soapbox about. A teen suicide that raised nationwide attention to issues of consent and online bullying? This was a case of semi nude photos being shared on public media that drove a teen to her death. Please delete yr musings
