isnt that what like every campaign ever does already though?? Also the "moderates" policy's (Like obama wanting a public option) get pulled right (ACA being a heritage/romeny care plan). So why start from a weaker negotiating point

It seems like in a Democratic primary candidates should be focused on signaling that they are interested in fighting for the priorities of the Democratic base, not focused on signaling to Republicans that they're excited to compromise those priorities, imho.
