I've assumed for months that as good as things were looking for Sanders, centrists would consolidate quickly and pull out the oppo big guns immediately after he started winning races. But if people are still telling themselves he's not actually ahead at this point.... folks...

I don't think people are saying he has no shot. But when he and Warren get 35% combined in NH, a state they should dominate, while Buttigieg/Klobuchar/Biden get 51%, it's odd to argue that he's in a really good position, especially given proportional allocation of delegates.

If Bernie were competing under the GOP's winner-take-all rules, then the fact that he's the frontrunner by a small margin would matter a lot more. But he's not.

First of all, not true. 2nd of all, Trump was running in winner-take-all primaries. Bernie is not. The math is completely different.
