Exaclty so. The real danger is that if you run Bloomberg (or Biden or Buttigieg) they will campaign on Trump's personal grossness (which everyone knows & is baked into his support) rather than arguments that can actually, you know, convince people. Same as 2016.https://twitter.com/chrislhayes/status/1226894443279765504 …

How does it hurt to bring up his vulgarity? Can't they do both? Focus on issues AND how repulsive he is?

this is true but did it factor in more than grossness. You don't really have to mention it for it to be prominent in a voter's mind

Any Democratic nominee can and will campaign on policy particulars as well as Trump-hate.

Kurt, it’s not “trump-hate,” per se, that motivates me.
• I know you know anyway, but I don’t hate t for no-good-reason, I hate him because he’s amply demonstrated how lowly he is. - Show replies

What about focusing less on “personal grossness” as a general personality and more on “Donald Trump is a serial predator who paid for his mistresses’ abortions”
-
Everyone capable of being swayed by that argument already has been.

If everyone knows and his base is shrinking, then this should be a cake walk, right?? No. There’s a LOT more going on here than this. But, if the only value is that Bloomberg’s attacks are exacerbating DJT’s personal descent into madness and he exposes himself, I’ll take that!!
