About 3 years ago, I described Peterson as a crank while guys like David Brooks celebrated him as a great intellectual. I think Peterson's descent into crankery is now undeniable. This gives me no pleasure. What's happened to him is sad. https://twitter.com/coreypein/status/1226011565884731392 …

You clearly know nothing about auto-immune illness; auto-immune reactions to food can trigger years of illness, there are no effective treatments, the impact is massively stressful, and people easily become desperate and dependent (for sleep, for respite) on prescribed stuff.
-
Benzos are NOT a recommended "treatment" for anything like that. If they are prescribed—typically for crisis-level anxiety—for longer than 10-14 days, that prescription is a case of medical malpractice.

The article says the benzos were prescribed, so you have evidence they weren’t?
-
He was proscribed benzos over "anxiety due to autoimmune reactions" to his fad diets The dude's got a degree in psychology and he thinks that makes him an authority on history, religion, and even health and medicine. It's pure crank behaviour
