Not sure that makes it a problem so much as not necessarily an asset.

You can say that Warren was standing for the working class in 1996, before anyone knew, though. And it's true.

This why Bernie's going to make her Treasury Secretary. Or, my preferred outcome: she takes Schumer's job.

She also can obviously continue to engage in it without being president

A good argument to putting her in position within any progressive administration to do this work in a way that Obama was too timid to do.

1/Well for one, it's not her only appeal; she obviously has other strengths. But I wouldn't write off the strength of this attribute regardless. Evaluating Warren's appeal is pretty tough. She's in a race where her most-like opponent has a 4-year organizational head start.

2/He also rhetorically puts himself to her left by a much wider margin than their policies & actions as president would actually play out. And is on the heels of a massive underperformance by a women nom. Yet polls of h2hs still show she outperforms Bernie in 1on1s against Biden!

It's also the sort of stuff a president can actually make big changes on in this political climate, rather than a complete overhaul of the American healthcare.
