1. So: there's been a spate of polemics recently arguing (or worrying) that Bernie Sanders is unelectable in the Atlantic, New York, New York Times & Slate. They raise good points but need more clarity on how electability is a choice that depends on members of Dem coalition.

I don't think they have a problem with voting for Warren. ...

If you consider the Berners as part of the party, then yes.

But Trump owes a large part of his surprise 2016 victory to (i) the electoral college turning a 3 million vote loss into a win and (ii) the Comey letter. Neither of these things will help a Democrat win in 2020. If Bernie merely repeats Trump's 2016 performance, Dems lose.

This way of approaching the question fails on its own logic: if party unity is the only factor, and Trump '16 is evidence of that, then Trump necessarily wins in '20 - same race wm same party unity & same result Clearly, the relevant variable is the sliver of persuadables

Exactly right, there is an actual measurable cohort of swing voters, to the tune of ~8% in recent Pres. elections. Jeet is a compulsive nitwit.

It is not a party unity problem. It is a math problem. X + Y + Z = 270. But what are X, Y, and Z?

You have a candidate suggesting ~$60 trillion policies that HE couldn't be bothered to do the math on during DECADES advocating for it & you're arguing there's not a real extremist here? this is besides his cyberbullying army & threats of mass shootings if he doesn't win, etc??

By this rationale, if Biden or even Warren wins, Sanders supporters should vote for him, no?

I'm sick of hacks hop, skipping, and jumping over the primaries to ask if Dems will vote for Bernie. Ask that shit after the primary. The precedent was set by Bernie, his campaign and his supporters in 2016, to NOT support the Dem nominee. /1

You don’t think how Bernie was treated had anything to do with his supports not voting? He did show up to 40 HRC rallies...
