1. The impeachment is necessary but one of the downsides is that other very important stories get crowded out. This includes a recent cluster of stories about how the Saudi regime is out of control & the Trump administration refuses to restrain it.

3. Part of my frustration with Ukrainegate is that there is a much broader critique of Trump's foreign policy to be made (perhaps in the general election): that he perverts it to personal ends. Saudi Arabia is as part of that as Ukraine/Russia.

4. One reason Trump's been able to get away with the Saudi stuff is that USA foreign policy, going back to FDR, has been very tightly linked with House of Saud.
