1. Since I've been known to sling barbs at congressional Dems, I also want to give credit where credit is due: Pelosi and Schumer have handled the impeachment with adroitness.

3. Schumer's strategy is to pressure the handful of Senate Republicans who are in states where Trump is unpopular; to force them to either give up Trump or (more likely) to own their party's fealty to Trump. This could pay off in November. More here: https://www.thenation.com/article/schumer-amendments-impeachment-strategy/ …

Funny I was listening to an old (just a few months) episode of the Daily and they were talking to moderate House Democrats who voted for impeachment. They stressed how important it was to get Republicans on the record no matter the outcome and I see it here too.

It's good to make the GOP own Trump -- indeed to own his crimes. Hillary Clinton followed opposite path in 2016 & tried to distinguish between good Paul Ryan (said she could work with him) and bad Trump.

I wonder how this is playing out in correspondence/calls from voters in constituents’ offices and in congressional offices

Indivisible & Move On are organizing a lot of protests and calls. I think it's rattling the GOP.
