Trump (though his actual wealth is debatable) is so easily bribed! Flattery is always a brilbe to the vain.

Trump's political instincts are top-notch. He emasculated the entire field by stating that he gave money to every other candidate onstage basically to bribe them. No one even bothered to factcheck to see if it was true (not that it would have mattered)

After we've dispensed with the fiction that government works for us, there's a certain case to be made for knowing exactly who it works for. Trump and Bloomberg are alike in that respect.

More importantly, rich men exercise & acquire power by bribing. If in politics, that fact becomes a tool to extort [bribe] from them.

Our original sin, was not admitting that even the most innocent campaign donation, if it is given in expectation of special treatment is potentially a bribe. And therefore campaign donatons, favors, & public acts must be regulated. Not labeling it "free speech."

I'm guessing that beyond a certain wealth threshold trying to transact some sort of political favor using actual money becomes quite awkward. Much easier to approve something, grease some wheels, help get someone a job, change some investments, etc.
