Defense attorneys have to defend sometimes horrible people. That's to the greater good of society, because we want a strong legal defense available to everyone. So I don't begrudge Dershowitz representing von Bulow or OJ Simpson. The Epstein thing is different.
With Esptein, Dershowitz wasn't just a lawyer representing his client. There was some sort of extra-professional relationship. By how own admittance, Dershowitz went to Epstein's house and got a massage (from, he claims, an "old, old" woman).
It's that extra-professional relationship with Epstein that is troubling, along with the fact that the sweet-heart deal Dershowitz secured was highly irregular. This is something different than a lawyer (rightly) providing a full-throttle defense of a client.
As of December 2, 2018 -- less than a year before Epstein's death -- Dershowitz was still providing Epstein with legal advice. "He has called me a couple of times about legal issues, because I'm still technically his lawyer...You never stop being a person's lawyer."
Defence lawyers might defend unpleasant characters. They normally don’t befriend them and accept massages (has anyone ever located this old Russian masseuse that Dersh claims worked for Epstein?).
What Difference does it make? The point is he surrounds him self with the degenerates of our society and more than often gets them found not guilty and have no accountability for the crimes they commit
